The New Zealand Government will start Alert Level 4 at 11:59pm on Wednesday, 25 March, 2020. In an effort to have all applicants follow the lockdown stipulations, the Consular Office of the Chinese Consulate General in Christchurch will temporarily change the application submission methods concerning with visa and consular legalization applications. Details are as follows:
1. Only if the travel to China is within the coming one month, will the visa application be accepted. If not for urgency, it is recommended to postpone visa or consular legalisation applications until the situation is getting better.
2. Please submit applications via post or courior. The Office will not accept any submission in person.
3. All documents will also be returned via post or courier. Therefore, please make sure that every application should include a bank note with the application fee and postal service fee ( NZ $15 per bag) and a post bag with your postal address and tracking number sticker ready, which is for returning passports or legalized documents .
4. Bank cheques should be payable to: Chinese Consulate General in Christchurch.
