Consul General Wang Zhijian Meets With Minister of Energy and Resources Megan Woods

On 22nd November, Consul General Wang Zhijian met with Dr. Megan Woods, Minister of Energy and Resouces, Greater Christchurch Regeneration, Research, Science and Innovation, and Minister Responsible for the Earthquake Commission and Dr. Duncan Webb, Member of Parliament. They focused discussion on how to promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

Consul General Wang warmly congratulated Dr. Megan Woods on her successful re-election as MP in the General Election and assumption of office as Cabinet Minister. He appreciated Minister Woods for her long-term attention and support to the development of China-New Zealand relations. He said the Consulate General will further enhance the coordination and cooperation with relevant government agencies of New Zealand so as to push forward the friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation to make new progress.

Minister Woods spoke highly of the remarkable outcomes achieved in the China-New Zealand relations during the recent years. She said New Zealand expects to further intensify the cooperation with China in the fields of infrastructure construction´╝îscience, technology and innovation and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and start business in South Island to promote the local economic development. Both sides could further explore more cooperation opportunities in future.
